Holocaust Survivor Endre Sarkany Presents to History Students

On Tuesday, May 17th, Vinal’s 11th grade History students had the honor and privilege of hearing a presentation by Endre (Andy) Sarkany, a Hungarian Jewish Holocaust survivor. Mr. Sarkany shared his personal story and first-hand account of what it was like to live in the Budapest ghetto during the Holocaust in post-war Soviet Communist Hungary and ultimately in haven in the United States of America. Mr. Sarkany used his experience and historical knowledge to deliver a powerful message about the importance of love, hope, respect, and perseverance in our lives.
