Mr. Malli Awarded Fund for Teachers Fellowship

April 19, 2022

Congratulations to Mr. Malli on being selected as a Fellow with Fund for Teachers!  Mr. Malli, Vinal’s Music Teacher, will be traveling to three distinct workshops this summer.

His experiences will cover a range of seminars on Appalachian Music, Music of Ghana and Brazil, Steel Pans of Trinidad, the Smithsonian Folkways Learning Pathways Initiative, Intermediate and Advanced Guitar Techniques, and professional Sound Healing and Vibrational Healing practices for wellness.

The fellowship will continue for the 2022-2023 school year implementing this new learning to create opportunities for student self-expression through an experiential, self-paced recreationally therapeutic workshop environment encapsulating social-emotional learning within mindfulness and wellness practices using guitars, drums, gongs, bells, and chimes not only musically, but also as tools for calming. Mr. Malli will also support the hands-on component of the music curriculum with some basic neuroscience on how the brain interprets sound and music.
