Vinal Tech Community Grows Gratitude Tree

November 22, 2024

Ms. Harrison, instructor at Vinal Tech, has helped the Vinal community to reflect and show gratitude through the Vinal Gratitude Tree.

She shared, “I think what connects human beings is that we all strive for happiness, but life has a funny way of introducing problems and challenges along the way. To help cope, there is a strong connection between gratitude and happiness. We cannot expect children to automatically show gratitude, so as educators, it is our job to model, and provide multiple opportunities for them to practice. In turn, students can experience more positive emotions when dealing with their own stress, anxiety and frustration.  Hopefully, this mindset will continue into their adult lives.”

Staff and students will spend a total of 17 days answering one unique question per day and adding a leaf, mushroom or acorn to build and grow the tree.
